The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans

The Christmas Box is a story of love and a touching tale on the meaning of Christmas.

Rick and Keri are hired as caretakers and are welcomed into the home of Mary, an ailing widow, just in time for the holidays. After the couple and their 4-yr old daughter Jenna move in its not long before it becomes apparent that Mary cherishes their companionship. She shares a deep friendship with Keri and adores Jenna. She also has some life lessons to dish out to Rick who is a busy workaholic, luckily for him he slowly but surely begins to understand her. Along with Rick the family soon realizes that their relationship to Mary is more special than any one of them could have guessed.

When Rick is lured by the mystery surrounding an old Christmas box he begins to have dreams of a crying angel. As he tries to put the puzzle pieces together he starts realizing what the angel is trying to tell him and begins to see the error of his ways and what family and Christmas really mean.

This was such a lovely tender story, which even brought a few tears to my eyes as I thought of the meaning of this book and how important my children are. The book simple and sweet in its writing fraught with real-life struggles will have the reader trying to figure out the mysterious secret woven within the pages. A simple message yes, but told in a profound way will cause you to rejoice in the blessings of the season while stirring up sentimental emotion especially for a parent.

(Back of Book)....In a season often shrouded in busy lives and materialism, Mr. Evans reminds us that the only way we can genuinely love one another is by accepting the greatest gift of love ever given.
