Welcome to the Shadow of Time blog tour!! Today Im thrilled to welcome author Jen Minkman to the blog. Along with this fun q&a, she will be offering a giveaway for anyone following the blog tour.
Hi Jen! Please tell us a little about your book Shadow of Time.
'It is a YA/NA paranormal romance set in Navajo Nation, with a lot of Native American influences and a truly original storyline (according to reviewers, not my own words!). Hannah falls for Josh, her childhood friend from the Navajo reservation, but pretty soon she is plagued by nightmares about the past of Navajo Nation and supernatural shadow-beings that follow her. Strangely enough, the dreams seem to invade reality, and she is sure she's slowly losing her mind - until she finds out what is happening to her.
If you could pick a song that encapsulated your book what would it be and why?
It would be the song I wrote for the book especially. You can listen to it here:

It is a traditional Navajo prayer, but the music is mine, and I changed some of the words to fit the story. It encapsulates who and what Josh (the male lead) is, and reflects the mood of the entire book at the same time.
What was the hardest part about writing your book?
Cutting out parts that I loved in order to make the book more coherent and tightly edited.
What are some of your favorite movies, and if you could cast your book what actor would play your main character?
Some of my fave movies are The Lake House, Twilight, The Time Traveler's Wife and City of Angels.
I guess I could imagine Saoirse Ronan as Hannah and Kyerin Bennett as Josh. (I don't know whether Kyerin can actually act, but he sure looks the part! :)
What authors have inspired you?
Stephenie Meyer, Cynthia Hand and Ray Bradbury.
Can you share any future plans?
I am planning to make English translations of ALL my Dutch paranormal romance books, so there is a lot more coming! My next project is a book set in Austria called 'The Boy From The Woods'.

All Hannah needs is a nice and quiet vacation after her first year of teaching French at a high school. She joins her brother Ben for the summer in their mom’s log cabin in Arizona. There, she meets Josh again, Ben’s childhood friend from the Navajo reservation. The little boy from the rez has grown up fast, and Hannah can’t help but feeling more for him than just friendship.
But fate apparently has something else in store for her. And it’s not peace and quiet. Night after night, Hannah is plagued by strange nightmares about the past of Navajo Nation and terrifying shadows chasing her. They seem to come closer – and why is Josh always present in her dreams?
Sometimes, the past has a way of catching up with you.

Thanks for posting!!
