So my picks for the Blog with Bite's Vamp Week will be my favorite on-screen Vampires and my favorite Vampire Books.
My all time favorite TV Vampire was Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Angels Famous Quote:
"Passion, it lies in all of us, sleeping... waiting... and though unwanted... unbidden...
it will stir... open its jaws and howl. It speaks to us... guides us... passion rules us all,
and we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments.
The joy of love... the clarity of hatred... and the ecstasy of grief.
It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion
maybe we'd know some kind of peace... but we would be hollow...
Empty rooms shuttered and dank. Without passion we'd be truly dead."
I must admit when I first stumbled upon Buffy- it was David Boreanaz that made me a true addict of the show. When Angel left and started his own series I was over the moon- Buffy still had Spike and a good story line to keep me interested but Angel gained top spot on my TV during its duration.

Im not a fan of Bones....but Wow- I miss Angel and Buffy......
BTW...the bottom picture was taken at my house in the tub.......Just kidding...............although my husband is almost an exact look-alike...just kidding again.........
BOOK PICK
Since you all know about the Evernight Series I thought I'd share some titles that you might not have heard of- or have but haven't gotten the chance to read yet. So my pick for today is:
Sunshine by Robin McKinley- You want to talk about weird- this one takes the cake, I loved this book and thought the writng was unique and everything you'd expect from a McKinley novel.
The story is set in an alternate universe, taking place after the “Voodoo Wars”, a war between humans and the “Others”. The Others consist of vampires, werewolves, and other supernaturals, though the main conflict is between humans and vampires. As a result of this war, “bad spots”, or black magic holes, have appeared in certain areas. One dark night strolling along Rae (Sunshine) the cinnamon roll-making heroine of the novel, has the misfortune of being caught off-guard in a “bad spot” and is abducted by a gang of vampires. She is dragged to a ballroom of an abandoned mansion where Constantine, a vampire shackled there by the same vampires has been left to slowly die of hunger................................
Under impossible circumstances the two escape from the mansion and form a strange but deep relationship. Despite her best efforts, all does not return to normal after she is home and over time she starts to become more affected by the ordeal and links to Constantine in a way beyond her understanding......
Sounds good right....oh it was and Constantine is a very dark vampire...he's described as weird looking but yet still seems hot- I don't know how McKinley did that but she did.....he's for sure not the sensitive popular vampire so trendy lately- he is freaky........and that's what I loved about this- the Vampires were truly scary and the world complete fantasy!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI love Angel, too!
ReplyDeleteSunshine sounds like a very interesting book!
Good lordy he's delish!
ReplyDeleteI adored Angel as well. Speaking of Buffy...I still need to watch the last three seasons...lol. Never got around to them!
ReplyDeleteI remember waiting for the premier of Buffy. Wow, did I love that show. Still do. But, I'm a Spike girl. Always loved those bad boys, instead of the tortured hero. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't kick David B out of bed. Boy is he hot. That book sounds so cool BTW. Want to read.
ReplyDeleteGo Vamps!
