Welcome to the Saturday Spotlight, a weekly feature all about authors and the great books they write. This week I have the pleasure of introducing readers to....
JENNIFER TURNER

Tina, thanks so much for being a part of my blog tour, I’m thrilled to share what’s happening with Kaylee, the heroine of the Extreme Hauntings series. She’s a great gal to write about, one of the more subtle, yet courageous girls I’ve written. For her, the world revolves around the loyalty she has for friends and family, but none so much as that she has for Davey, her best friend and the boy next door.
They grew up together and have been through a lot, even before the beginning of the series. Davey suffered from an infection that settled in his spine, which resulted in a condition called transverse myelitis. In Detour 2 Death, his condition has gone from being stuck in a wheelchair, to being stuck in a coma.
Kaylee has been feeling closer and closer to Davey. Their friendship has turned in to so much more than she expected. Once, when they were little, she promised to marry him. Unfortunately, Davey thought the idea was gross and from then on, she’s never felt comfortable about expressing feelings beyond those of a friend.
When she enters his coma world, a place called Feverland, she meets the primitive Davey and he’s all about emotion. Here, in this place, her feelings are undeniable. This side of him does have feelings for her, but the tied up in jealousy, anger, and violence. Does he really care about her, or is he just possessive? Can she trust this feeling?
By the end of the book, she’s torn between loving him, and fearing him. Not only that, she had growing feelings for someone else. For a girl who’s never had a real steady boyfriend (her feelings for Davey always limiting her attachment to others) she’s in for a whirlwind of emotion in the rest of the series.

About the Book:
There are worse things than death, but not at Marsden Memorial hospital.
Kaylee Hensler knows her best friend Davey is on the brink of death. She knows this because she’s a psychic. When she flees the girl’s reformatory to get to him, she has no idea the special sort of hell waiting for her.
Reapers are collectors and they come in many forms. In Feverland, the world created by Davey’s sickness, the red reaper goes by the name of Molok, an ancient evil with deep roots. In Shadowland, the dark side of the hospital, a black reaper promises torture and torment to lost souls.
The white reaper is the most fearsome, giving Kaylee three days before he collects both her and Davey’s souls. Kaylee has one secret weapon, one she doesn’t fully understand. Her abilities will be tested, her loyalty betrayed, and her love misplaced. No one escapes Death.

Award-winning author J.R. Turner lives in Central Wisconsin with her husband and three children. She began writing in high school, and after a decade working as a commercial artist, started her first novel in 1999. Aside from crafts, camping and cooking, she loves holidays. A favorite is Halloween, a combination of spooky supernatural fun and chocolate. Visit her at http://www.jennifer-turner.com/ to learn more!

I would love to read it, it sounds really good.
