Chatting with Lisa T. Bergren
Today Im super spazzy to have Lisa Bergren author of my favorite books this year -Waterfall, Cascade and Torrent - to the blog today. We are chatting about the series, travels and other fun things. Also today Im giving a sneak peak at a special surprise for Lisa....
Lisa, thanks for stopping today...(smiling) So my first question today is: Now that The River of Time Trilogy has ended how do feel about the series as a whole?
LB- I loved it, from beginning to end. And really hope it's not over, actually. Hoping to return to medieval Italy and the Betarrini girls, if sales tell us there's enough interest out there.
TBR- What was your favorite part about writing Waterfall, Cascade and Torrent?
LB- I've always wanted to be a time traveler. Through Gabi and Lia, I really got a chance to "be" one. I think it's what draws me to historical...diving into another era is fascinating. Discovering what remains the same...and what is far different...
TBR- Ive read that your big on traveling, does this experience help you or inspire you in writing?
LB- Definitely. Being on location gives me all kinds of luscious detail and potential turns of plot. I'm addicted!
TBR- Lets Swoon for a bit shall we.....Marcello was an amazing male character, which for me really showed in Torrent. What did you love about him and what annoyed you about him?
LB-I loved his constancy, his loyalty, his strength. But all that machismo might've been tough to deal with in real life!
TBR- I think your right, it would have been hard dealing with the mind frame of men back then, the whole little women stay at home while the men take care of things. I guess though Marcello was willing to bend a bit, that's what I loved most about him, that he saw Gabis strength outside of the normal everyday gal in that time era.
While the series ended beautifully, I still want to know so much more, like Lia and Luca and the Black Plague aftermath, will you carry on with Gabi and Marcello's story? If not will you write a special one just for me...? (lol)....(ps- guy in picture is a young Henry Cavell)
LB- Exactly. That's exactly what I want to write--but I want to focus on Luca and Lia, a few years later, as they come to terms with their own relationship and confront the Black Plague.
TBR- YAY! So I can hope that there will be more!!!!
So just because Im dying to know....what song was Lia whistling to Gabi in Cascade, when the bad guys almost got her in the tent?
LB- What page is that on? I need to review it and see if I can remember! (I wrote it a year ago.)
TBR- LOL- Ummmmmm, I forgot the page but it was somewhere during the time when the girls were in the soldiers camp...Im going to imagine Lia was whistling The Black Eyed Peas- I Gotta a Feeling........
TBR- Would you like to see the series become movies?
LB- Uh, YES!!!! Know any great, rich producers?
TBR- Yes, I think I got the number and direct line to Summit, they LOVVEEE Ya stuff!!! Speaking of movies, what was the last good one you saw?
TBR- Harry Potter was awesome and I cant wait to see The Help, that book was really good....and now that were talking books.....what are you reading right now?
LB- BEAUTY QUEENS (Bray).
TBR- Haven't read that one yet, but I did read her Gemma series- it was pretty good. Well Lisa, before you leave can you share any future projects coming up?
LB- I'm currently working on an adult trilogy about a group of young people on the Grand Tour of Europe. They end up in...*drumroll*....Italy, of course!

Yay! So excited to read this book and be a part of the Read Along event:) So glad to know she's thinking of writing more too, I like knowing things might not be over because I have a feeling I'll be craving more of these characters!

Whoa! I've always wanted to be a time traveler, too! I'd be so good at it. I promise I wouldn't take winning lotto numbers to the past. LOL
