Hi there savvy readers. So this week here at my blog I will be participating in Read-A-Thon week hosted by Kate at The Neverending Shelf
If you want to join the Read-A-Thon, you can read as much as you want and also anyone can participate. The goal is to catch up on TBR piles and review books. So head over to Kate's for more info!
Tina's Goals
My goals this week are- writing no reviews and focusing on just reading- I also will be doing the fun daily activities that go with the challenge but as far as the reading go's- I have 15 books on the list!!
MONDAY/ Clutter and Hording Rehab
The first activity is being hosted by Kristen at Bookworming in the 21st Century.
Her challenge is to take a picture of your overflowing books and admitting you have a problem!
Hi. My name is Tina and I am a bookaholic and compulsive bookbuyer.

So here's a look at the inside of my closet, the shelf's are suppose to be for clothes- but contain lots and lots of books. The other side looks the same way. I have two large book shelfs in my house already and need to invest in another. This does not even touch on the book problem I have going on in the storage room. I have tubs of books just sitting down there!! The problem with using the closet space is the fact that I have to share it with my husband- and there's just no room for all the books and clothing for two people.
Here's a picture of the top of my dresser- I try to keep this organized with current/weekly reading only. Its become more of a dumping ground than a dresser.

MY --Three Step--PLAN
1. Declutter- the first step is to actually go through all the books- keep the one's I love and have giveaways/paperback swap them and also donate to the local library.
2. Invest- buy another bookshelf- and a large enough one that house the books Ive got!
3. Utilize- to cut down on spending- I need to make an extra effort to get books at the library- I know they will thank me and my wallet will too!! Also it will help with the overflow of books at my house.
Perhaps this simple step program will help make me a smarter book owner!!

Good luck! I'm doing the readathon and will be doing this activity today most likely. But first to get some reading done.
ReplyDeletewow, i wish i had that closet space for more books. i too have tubs and tubs of books and i HATE having to dig through them at 10pm when i really want to read that one chapter from that one book that that thing is in! im sure you know what i mean. good luck! i think ill jump into this readathon as well! -misshavoc
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all those goals and totally agree about the library.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals and I'm with you on needing a new bookshelf...or four...
ReplyDeleteGreat plan! I too am trying to cut back on my book spending! It's hard because I live in an area where a lot of authors come - so I've promised myself only to buy books for author events and nothing else.
ReplyDeleteWow 15 books in one week! Good luck! Your goals sound excellent. I really should take a page from your book! I have recently been working really hard on cutting back my spending as well by trying to read up some of the books that are sitting on my shelves! :P
