Two sisters whose lives seemed forever intertwined are torn apart when a magical little black dress gives each one a glimpse of an unavoidable future. Antonia Ashton has worked hard to build a thriving career and a committed relationship, but she realizes her life has gone off-track. Forced to return home to Blue Hills when her mother, Evie, suffers a massive stroke, Toni finds the old Victorian where she grew up as crammed full of secrets as it is with clutter. Now she must put her mother’s house in order—and uncover long-buried truths about Evie and her aunt, Anna, who vanished fifty years earlier on the eve of her wedding.

By shedding light on the past, Toni illuminates her own mistakes and learns the most unexpected things about love, magic, and a little black dress with the power to break hearts...and mend them.

Thoughts/Mini-Review

Little Black Dress is a darling story about two sisters Evie and Anna and their mother going through life and tossed with a little magic. Very reminiscent of Anne Brashares Sisterhood Series, LBD made me long for my own magical black dress.

Delightful, charming and even a tad bit emotional Little Black Dress promises to pull the reader into a story about women and the power that binds them together through motherhood, sisterhood and friendship. As each character travels the road to mending, hearts are changed and eyes are opened to move past dark family secrets.

Even if you don't believe in magic, this delightful book will help change your mind with its charming story and witty writing.

4/5- Women's-Contemporary

  1. Oh man, it has been years since I've read the Sisterhood books. But just thinking of them always brings back good memories. :)

So I take it that the magic of this little black dress is that it does more than hide your flabby areas. Yes, I can see the charm in that. hehe

I am almost ashamed to say that I've never read the Sisterhood series. I really need to get on that.
