Tgif {13} Reading Challenges

Tgif is a weekly meme hosted and created by Ginger at Greads. This feature lets us wrap up the week and also poses a weekly question pertaining to blogging, books and what have you. This weeks question:

Reading Challenges: Did you sign up for any this year? How has your progression been?

I am a challenge-junkie, so of course I signed up for a ton.......
(my bloggie friend Missie from The Unread Reader did a post like this a few months ago- Im going to borrow her format for my progress breakdown...)

Well shiver me timbers, I think Im going to pull this one off. Vampires are never hard for me to get into....and with a mix of YA and even some CF vampires this year the selections are great.

Book Soulmates Zombie Challenge

Not making as much progress as I thought I would...I have a few on the horizon before January hits, but more than likely I don't see myself finishing this one...and ps- that picture is scary...Im shivering a little..

Book Soulmates Host Steampunk Ahead

Epic Fail!

The Book Vixens- Nicholas Sparks Challenge

Well fiddle sticks....I guess my intentions of re-reading all my favorite spend a year with Master Sparks has fizzled out faster than a sparkler on the 4rth of July.....

Stainless Steel Droppings- R.I.P VI
Status: 0/2 Read- 2011-Fall Event

2 books people...its 2 books.....well at least I have until November to get this one done. My favorite challenge every year and I fail every time. You can see now why I keep chocolate out of my house........

The Goodreads 2011 Challenge

Well blow me down- I think I will complete this one. I really wanted to get 200 books in this year, but Im happy with this challenge.

The Book Junkie's- Christian Fiction Challenge

Ok so this one was easy- I read so much Inspy fiction I knew 12 would be a piece of cake.....Hey man at least Im not a total challenge-failure.

  2. Wow, that's a lot of challenges, but it looks like you're doing pretty well. :) I didn't know about these, really, until later in the year, so I didn't join any, except for on GR, but I've got lots of ideas for next year! Seriously, an audiobook challenge? I'll rock that one for sure! :)

    Happy TGIF!!!

  4. Dude! This is TOTALLY why I don't do challenges... Because I'm counter productive!!! Lol!!

  5. What do you got against FREE books, huh?

Just kidding, T. I'm failing my own challenge too. And I was so pumped about it at the beginning of the year.

The only challenge I'm acually doing good in is the Vampire RC. I've read 18/20! Only two more to go!

    Fang Bangers Rule! :)

  6. I find I do best with the general "read this many books per year" challenges. Give me a genre or parameters and I fail big time.

  7. Look at you, you little challenge-taker. That is an amazing list of challenges, lol. And I'll back-up the love of your format for sharing.

I'm doing RIP too, and I'm kinda sad I missed the zombie challenge I've never done a zombie book and there are so many good ones out there now!

    P.S.
hahaha, on chocolate comment ;) I don't keep it in the house either...my eyes are always bigger than my stomach or my bookshelf space...

  8. Wow, you really are a challenge junkie! I signed up for one lone challenge and that was a big epic fail for me. I was all about it for like a month and then my book reading ADD kicked in and I was all over the place:) Looking forward to a year end summary of all your challenges!

  9. First of all, FNL is one of my favorite shows. Fabulous writing, acting, and directing. For the longest time, I kept dismissing it for just a boring show about football. Boy, was I stupid! Loved every minute of it. Hate to see it ended.

Second of all, there's CF vamps? I had no idea! Good luck on the challenges!

I totally FAILED on the ONLY challenge I signed up for. It was the GR challenge and I posted by books at 200. I'm only at 96 (including my re-reads). I don't imagine I'm going to get another 100 in in 3 months. Well, not unless I suddenly find someone to watch my kids non-stop, quit my job, tell the husband he can't talk to me until January, cut off my cell phone and STOP BLOGGING! Ummmm...yeah....I don't see any of that happening. o_o Besides, I kinda like my kids. LOL!

I think you amaze me at all the ones you try. I'm a scared wimp since I only did the ones I was pretty sure I'd do well. LOL Yes, I fail for not pushing myself!

I love all of these challenges! I wish I had known about all of them sooner! If it wasn't so late in the year, I'd jump in on them!
