The Other Life by Susanne Winnacker
May 1, 2012 by Marshall Cavendish

3 years, 1 month, 1 week and 6 days since I’d seen daylight. One-fifth of my life.

Sherry and her family have lived sealed in a bunker in the garden since things went wrong up above. Her grandfather has been in the freezer for the last three months, her parents are at each other’s throats and two minutes ago they ran out of food. Sherry and her father leave the safety of the bunker and find a devastated and empty LA, smashed to pieces by bombs and haunted by ‘Weepers’ - rabid humans infected with a weaponized rabies virus. While searching for food in a supermarket, Sherry’s father disappears and Sherry is saved by Joshua, a boy-hunter. He takes her to Safe-haven, a tumble-down vineyard in the hills outside LA, where a handful of other survivors are picking up the pieces of their ‘other lives’. As she falls in love for the first time, Sherry must save her father, stay alive and keep Joshua safe when his desire for vengeance threatens them all.

My Stubborn Heart by Becky Wade
May 1, 2012 by Bethany House

Kate Donovan is burned out on work, worn down by her dating relationships, and in need of an adventure. When her grandmother asks Kate to accompany her to Redbud, Pennsylvania, to restore the grand old house she grew up in, Kate jumps at the chance, takes a leave of absence from her job as a social worker, and the two of them set off. Upon her arrival in Redbud, Kate meets Matt Jarreau, the man her grandmother has hired to renovate the house. From the first moment she meets Matt, Kate can't help but be attracted to him--he's got a combination of good looks and charisma that draw and tug at her. But she knows there's zero chance of a romance between them. Matt's in love with his dead wife, and even if he weren't, Kate realizes that she's way too ordinary for him. For Matt Jarreau is no ordinary guy.............

In Too Deep by Amanda Grace
February 2012 by Flux

I never meant for anyone to get hurt. All I wanted to do that night was make a play for Carter Davis. His heartless rejection was mortifying, but people got the wrong idea when they saw me leaving his bedroom, crying. That’s how rumors of rape started.

Now girls at school are pouring out their sympathy to me. Guys too. But not everyone’s on my side. The school has become a war zone and the threats are getting scary. What began as poetic justice has morphed into something bigger-forcing me to make a terrible choice.

So last year I read this book called Crossing by Andrew Fukuda and was blown away by the story, the writing and the quiet quality of Andrews storytelling...needless to say I cannot wait until his book The Hunt is released in May!! And while all these books look fantastic (Dear The Other Life ARC- please find me!!) Im absolutely in heaven listening to The Rose Garden on audio right now.

On my iPod today...

  2. Woozers! In Too Deep sounds so intense. Actually all of them do. And what is up with hunting humans? Yikes! But it sounds like a book I can sink my teeth into. LOL

Okay, I want The Other Life, My Stubborn Heart and possibly The Hunt. OMG, who am I kidding. I think I want them all. Also, is it wrong that I love the butterfly in The Other Life. I want that book amazingly bad. It sounds pretty good for a dystopian!

Uhm, why have I never seen The Rose Garden before? I did The Winter Sea by the same author and really enjoyed it.

Also I just saw The Other Life on Ashley's (Into the hall of books) blog and it sounded so cool. She really enjoyed it.

    As always, great picks ;)
