~Wit and Wisdom~
Being a top 10 list of Jane Austen quotes
Hosted by Tinasbookreviews

~Wisdom~

There is, I believe, in every disposition a tendency to some particular evil— a natural defect, which not even the best education can overcome.
Pride and Prejudice

“My good opinion once lost is lost forever.”
 Pride and Prejudice

“It isn't what we say or think that defines us, but what we do.”
 Sense and Sensibility

“Know your own happiness. Want for nothing but patience, or give it a more fascinating name: Call it hope.”
Sense and Sensibility

~WIT~

  • "I wish with all my soul his wife may plague his heart out."
    - Sense and Sensibility, Ch. 30

  • EPE! Sounds like a scorned woman to me.....how many of us have had that thought or fleeting feeling that the guy who left us would be forever wrecked with his new found love..??

"Amusing herself in the consideration of the blunders which often arise from a partial knowledge of circumstances, of the mistakes which people of high pretensions to judgment are for ever falling into" Emma

Friendship is certainly the finest balm for the pangs of disappointed love.
    Northanger Abby

"Our pleasures in this world are always to be paid for."
    Northanger Abby

“You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope...I have loved none but you.”
    Persuasion

And my favorite Jane quote of all time comes straight from king of romance himself, Mr. Darcy....

“You have bewitched me body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you.
And wish from this day forth never to be parted from you.”
    Pride and Prejudice

AHHHH- can you say make me fall over and die from swooning so hard!!!!!!???

*Falls down dead from the romance of it all* I so love Mr. Darcy! I'm pretty sure I would have no idea what I would do if someone said something like that to me (besides stand there mute and staring like the special person I am). So many great quotes, love it!

For Christmas last year, my mom gave me a book that is called Jane Austen Advice. It's a bunch of quotes they've taken from all of her books and related it to some current misfortune for woman. It's actually really cute, but I haven't made it through it all (even though its super short). I love so many of her quotes. She was just so amazing!
