Tinas Favorite Things in 2010- Book Trailers/Covers
Lets talk book covers and trailers!! These baby's are getting so good lately. I think those market genius's out there are getting the clue that good trailers+covers= big hype!!
So here are my top five trailers and top five cover favorites this year.
Immanuel's Veins- Ted Dekker
My favorite trailer this year was Immanuel's Veins. I think I posted it here at my blog about fifty times....I think I might be getting a little to fan girl on Mr. Dekker....
Crossing Oceans- Gina Holmes
2. Crossing Oceans....I know its simple but I found it lovely and the music sets the tone for the entire story....sad, major sad...but with a twist of hope at the end....
Linger- Maggie Stiefvater
3. Linger...I mean come on could this lady seriously be anymore talented!! I want to learn how to bag pipe and have my husband prance around in a kilt....AWESOME!!
Matched- Ally Condie
4. Matched- I loved the Matched Trailer...short but to the point, it was also a favorite book of mine this year. Good story, good trailer, great cover!!
Tell me a Secret- Holly Cupala
5. Tell Me a Secret- lastly but in no way least and in no way last because I LOVE book trailers, I thought Holly Cupalas Tell me a Secret was fantastic!! I also just finished reading this book and it was a five star for me. Ill be posting the review after the new year.
I like the animated trailers much more, I think the art gives it more of the book feel, rather than live actors in a trailer but I like the actor ones too so kudos for books and the people that write them!!
And my Five Favorite Covers this year were......
The Replacement- I love the creepy baby buggie and overall feel of the cover which beautifully sets the tone in the novel.
Halo- While I didnt like this novel I LOVED the cover, probally my favorite one this year. I love the angles wings and overall feel of love it inspires.
Nightmare- just looks creepy with that womans head coming out of some substance...perhaps the dreamworld or the world between the living and the dead.
Infinite Days- I love those eyes and the glossy look of the cover, not to mention the clean nostrils...always a plus in my book........
Tandem- Is that a creepy mask, a painted face, I love the use of red and black with the opalescent face. The face is almost colorless which gives the illusion of mystery perhaps seductive or dangerous.
And that completes Tina's Favorite Things of 2010, it was a great year!!
Totally agree on the Linger trailer. And I agree about Halo; cover was better than the book.
Ha, I suppose you have a point about the nostrils in Infinite Days...
I love the Replacement cover too! House is among my favorites and enjoying the Cuddy/HOuse romance. Ah, Damian of Vampire Diaries - I'm swooning! I'll have to tell Jake about Walking Dead. He is so a zombie lover. Great post!
Love this post! I really enjoyed the book trailer for Matched, it was so interesting. And I loved the cover for The Replacement as well, it's so creepy and pretty at the same time:)
I like those animated booktrailers too. They are beautiful. I like the last one. It's such a beautiful trailer. I want to read the book now and that's makes a trailer good. :) Great posts.
