Catherine by April Lindner
January 15, 2013 by Little Brown

True love never dies in this modern retelling of one of literature’s most haunting star-crossed romances, Wuthering Heights.

Catherine is tired of struggling musicians befriending her just so they can get a gig at her Dad’s famous Manhattan club, The Underground. Then she meets mysterious Hence, an unbelievably passionate and talented musician on the brink of success. As their relationship grows, both are swept away in a fiery romance. But when their love is tested by a cruel whim of fate, will pride keep them apart?
Chelsea has always believed that her mom died of a brief illness, until she finds a letter her dad has kept from her for years—a letter from her mom, Catherine, who didn’t die: She disappeared. Driven by unanswered questions, Chelsea sets out to look for her—starting with the return address on the letter: The Underground.

Thomas & January by Fisher Amelie
June 15, 2012 - Indie eBook
Tom approached me slowly and met me under the light on the stone walkway. He leaned over me so closely, my neck craned to see his face. His expression was one of confusion as he studied my own. “How can you be this extraordinary, January MacLochlainn?” He leaned closer, a look of pure frustration and anger lit his eyes and pressed his lips. “And why couldn’t I have met you before I realized I didn’t want anyone...ever?”........Life for Thomas and January will never be the same again...whether they like it or not.

This is a Love Story by Jessica Thompson
February 2, 2012 by Coronet
This is a love story. Boy meets girl and girl falls for boy - that much is true. But when Sienna meets Nick it's not the way it happens in love stories. It's because of a squirrel on water skis...She sees Nick's dangerous brown eyes and thinks,

Don't. Fall. Into. Them.

Who will be there to catch Siena when she falls? She is so fragile. She has so many secrets, and he is not that serious.

A Long way from You by Gwendolyn Heasley
June 5, 2012 by HarperTeen

For too long, Kitsy has had to satisfy her dreams of becoming a real artist by giving her friends makeovers before prom. So when her best friend Corrinne's family offers to sponsor her for a summer art course in New York City, Kitsy bids a temporary good-bye to Texas to say hello to the West Village. Between navigating the subway and the New Yorkers—namely, the Art Boy who has a nice trick of getting under her skin—Kitsy knows that this summer is going to be about a lot more than figure drawing.

Holy mother of books!
Lets talk about Catherine.......Im really looking forward to reading that one, I thought Lindner's modern day Jane was a great contemporary piece of Jane Eyre, so Im excited to see what she does with Wuthering Heights. Im also really excited to check out Thomas & January, I've been hearing great things about Fisher Ameile...and just bought her first book Callum & Harper, for sure an author on my must read list. With these great choices, which one looks good to you?

  • Ooooo a retelling of Wuthering Heights?! Sign me up for that! I don't remember all that much about the original other than it was a bit of a downer, but I'm really excited to see what Catherine will be like:) Also, Teeth sounds strange and bizarre and I kind of really want to read it!
