Read Along~ Married with Zombies Discussion One

Married with Zombies Scavenger Hunt Read-Along

So Have you heard? Myself and some great gals...Jen, Missie, Ashley and Loretta are hosting this fun {outside of the read along box} scavenger hunt of Jesse Peterson's Married with Zombies. This week our host is Jen from In the Closet with a Bibliophile and were chatting about chapters 1-5. Want to join us? Well follow the link and sign up. Post your answers and your pics for a chance at some great prizes and of course a great zombie chat!!!

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

In chapter 2 Sarah has to put her marriage therapist "to rest" with a letter opener. Let's see your weaponized letter opener in mid-action! No letter opener? Think fast! You need to rescue your friend/significant other! What are you going to use when no actual weapons are available? No knives, no guns! Show me what you've got!

OHMYWORD!! I have no letter opener.....the zombie is in my kitchen and I must save my bff, I grab my trusty avocado peeler {because me and the bestie just finished a lunch of delicious turkey avocado wraps and ice-tea} which is able to scoop out zombie eyes, thus making the zombie blind and dizzy giving us time to get the heck outta there!!!!!

PS- yes I cheated, my face is not in the picture but that's my thumb and Im taking the picture so there!

In chapter 2 Sarah is wrestling with Dr. Kelly and David can't seem to find a weapon to help his dear wife with. Until...Sarah yells at him to use something on Dr. Kelly's body, which he grabs and smashes into her head. I want to see your most killer pair of this item!

LMAO- I don't own any stilettos but here are my favorite heals.....pretty scary huh? Those rubber soles, oh yeah baby, those will rub a zombie raw!!!!!!!

In chapter 3, Sarah hears an unexpected noise in the bathroom while she's nervously peeing. She grabs "the closest thing there was to a weapon in the room". I want a picture of the same type of item that is closest to you....no soft edges people. They won't do the brain damage necessary to kill the living dead.

Well unfortunately for me I have no Dr.Phil love book so the nearest thing to grab while sitting on the toilet is either A. One pair of scissor tweezers (tiny like a Q-tip} or B. A decorative purple plate......Im going with choice B, it will have to suffice in the bashing of brains.

At the end of chapter 5, Dave gives Sarah a weapon just before they are leaving their apartment to pay a little visit to Jack & Amanda's apartment. Let's see a picture of yours (same type of item).

Can you believe it!? I don't own a real baseball bat, I have girls what can I say...so in the few minutes it took me to dig threw the sports tub, I was able to find this toddler bat. Hmmmmmmmm,  maybe I could shove it down a zombies throat????? I would so be dead within the first hour of a zombie Apocalypse.... pathetic......

How do you feel about the book up to this point? Any thoughts you want to share?

Ok, here's the deal....I think this book is very silly....but its fun and has a very comic slap happy feel going on. The characters actually make me smile.........

That was fun! Im still trying to figure out how to take action pics of myself, not going the way I thought.........until next week then.....

  • Oooo I like the plate for bashing purposes! Genius!

This book is making me very aware that I need to keep more weapons in all the rooms, including the bathroom.

Hi Tina! So glad you are on this read along. I have never heard of an avocado peeler and I eat avocadoes like crazy, must check that out. Rub a zombie raw huh....It's nasty skin would get all over your shoes. A toddler bat would work in a pinch! Great post!

"Those rubber soles, oh yeah baby, those will rub a zombie raw!!!!!!!" BEST LINE EVER! Seriously. Those soles would murder. Rubber is tough, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

And the avocado peeler? CLASSIC! Seriously, that was the best thought up one yet. Is it wrong that I'm a little afraid to ever eat avocado's at your house now? LOL!And we both know the blue plate option is better. Those corners would kill even a live person.

Sadly we have a baseball bat, glove & softball leaning against the wall in my workout/book room. Bought 8 years ago-ish & the kid doesn't play. Why do we have it? Oh, Zombie Apocolypse!!

*drools* I'm not craving a turkey avocado wrap in the worst way, which is no bueno since it's bed time and I don't have turkey or avocado or wraps on hand. Damn my laziness. I knew I should have gone grocery shopping.

And I'm totally jealous of your rubby heels. They are much taller than any shoes I own. I think that is one of the things I'm looking forward to the most once I lose more weight. Getting a pair of high heels! LOL

    1. Missie-lol my heals are made for girls with a little bootie in the back....:D They have really thick rubber soles for more support. I honestly cant wear the scary heals they hurt my feet and my back......but once I get riding that new bike and lose about 20 pounds scary heals might be an option for me too.....YAAY!!!
